The Church and the Marketplace
Wherever I travel, in the US or internationally, there is great discussion
about how the church and the marketplace are coming together to reach
souls.  God told us in His Word that the nations would seek the church, but
the big question is— Is the church ready?

As I talk with business people throughout the world, there seems to be
some concerns they have in dealing with the church.
  • They want to see if the church is handling their affairs in a business-
    like manner.
  • They are concerned about the integrity of the people who lead the
    churches.
  • The people they hire who claim to be Christians don’t act any
different from those who don’t believe.

THE CHALLENGE for the CHURCH
To overcome these obstacles the church must take a
look at how they are functioning.  God has given us the
greatest manual— the Bible- on how to lead and feed the
believer.  It is the leaders that must stand up and take
the responsibility and authority given to them by the Lord
to direct and equip the believers!  The Body of Christ
needs to then be educated in Godly principles so they
can move in the purpose and authority the Lord has
given them –doing everything as unto the Lord!

LEADERSHIP
Leader = a person who is directing, commanding or
guiding; the head of a group or activity.
Leadership = the position or guidance of a leader;
the individual’s ability to lead
The leader is the model—what they do and say
will affect their congregation.  Good leadership
will bring multiplication.  Bad leadership brings
division.   It is through proper training and
mentoring that good leaders arise.

TRAINING
The mission of Abundant Blessings Ministry—”To raise up high powered,
low maintenance warriors for the Army of God!”  That is why we travel the
globe to train leaders and their leaders to fulfill
the Great Commission!

Our studies include:
“Effective Leaders”,“The Keys to Spiritual Leadership,”
”Responsibility and Authority,”  “The Role of Leaders
Behind the Pastor’s Vision,”  “Business Ethics”,
“Being a Leader of Influence”, “The Communication
Model”, “Conflict Resolution”, “Keys to Being the Best
Leader,” and “The Challenges of Change.”  We also teach practical leader
skills to handle the people issues that can arise.

It is time to understand the leadership of Paul and to see how the early
church was able to grow and multiply souls and impact the marketplace!

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Many Pastors and Ministers heed the call from God on their life and begin
establishing their teams to minister.  This can be organizing a church body
or a team of people to work within the ministry.  As this can be an exciting
time it is also a critical time to establish the right group of people together
so the Lord’s work can be accomplished.

One of the things I have seen over the years in working with businesses
and corporations in training leaders, mangers and supervisors is we have
the tendency to
promote our best workers to become our worst supervisors!

Why does this happen?  Many times the leader will give a responsibility to
someone who has the “hard skill” abilities – knows the process, can get
things done, always on time, has the right training, etc.  Although these
things are important, there is another element that is missing and very
vital to being a great leader – the people skills!  These are called the “soft
skills” – effective communication, team building, coaching, delegating,
time management skills, motivating, conflict management, etc.

To be able to have an effective team, the leader must be able to lead
effectively!  I have heard Pastors say,
“I’m praying that God will deal with
the person and change them.”
God is dealing with that person through the
LEADER He has put in place.  The leaders are His voice and are called to
do the action whether it is to train or correct the people. It is the “fear of
man” that this Pastor speaks from and they have given and allowed a
foothold to the enemy to stop God’s plans and purposes!

“But they are volunteers, and we have to walk softly or they won’t show up.”
The sheep need a great shepherd or they will be devoured by the wolves.
Great leadership skills teach and lead and if done correctly, the
volunteers become the Body of Christ doing what God has called them to
do and fulfilling their purpose!  They will show up and be available at
anytime!

Could God have led the Israelites out of Egypt by Himself?  Of course!  But
He chose Moses to be His voice and to lead them!  Can God build a church
body and use us?  Of course!
But He gave some, apostles; and some,
prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the
perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the
body of Christ: (Ephesians 4:11-12).

It is the responsibility of these leaders to teach and correct the body so
the whole church can function!  So that means once the leader receives
the revelation from God, they must put into action to get the results and
see the fruit.

As a Teacher of leaders, I have traveled nationally and internationally
training thousands of leaders these principles of God.  These principles
work in the business arena, corporate arena, governmental arena and in
the Church.

The Word states the world will come to the Church – the market place is
changing hands.  The Body of Christ needs to then be educated in Godly
principles so they can move in the purpose and authority the Lord has
given them!  If a Church is functioning in the 20/80 model, it is not moving
ahead.  If the majority of the leaders in that ministry are gifted with the
servant gifting, then it is not moving ahead.

It is time to understand the leadership of Paul and to see how the early
church was able to grow and multiply souls!  Are you ready to become that
Leader that God has called?
